The Library is offering a series of “open” library instruction sessions. These are instructions session that students can attend on their own through one of three modes of delivery: in-person, live online via Elluminate, or online video recording of the live session via Elluminate. These sessions are not intended to replace instructor-initiated library instruction, which often focuses on resources relevant to a particular assignment. Rather, they are intended to provide basic instruction focused on resources that would be useful to students regardless of the courses they are enrolled in.
If you are unable to fit a library instruction session into your course this semester, please send your students to one of the open sessions scheduled during the first three weeks of classes. The sessions will cover the CSU library catalog, the I-Share catalog, and at least one major database for searching for journal articles. More information about these sessions is available at: http://bit.ly/open_library_instruction_fall_2011. Please inform your students and encourage them to pre-register as soon as possible.
Thank You,
