Notes
To create this site we used an off-the-shelf flatbed scanner and created uncompressed TIFF files. These we introduced into a character recognition program, saving them as Microsoft Word ® files. Images in these files could be placed on the Windows ® clipboard and pasted into a paint program. We used a variety of graphical editors, depending upon the workstation used, to produce JPEG files for the web.
The book may continue to be available at the Reference Desk, but the item is permanently located elsewhere. Use LD 891 .C9 H57 to locate the volume in our catalog. This web site will serve as a source of the full text of the volume. Many associated illustrations are also placed near the portion of the text they originally accompanied.
