About Us

As a service to its patrons, the Chicago State University Academic Library provides a small area at the rear of the Education Resource Center on the southwest side of the third floor for young children to read or play quietly while their adult caregivers study in carrels nearby. Caregivers may also use the area to read quietly to individual children or to small groups of children. Patrons may bring in their own reading materials or use items from the Center’s collection of 21,855 children’s books. The area is not suitable for large groups, babies or toddlers. Children must be supervised at all times by their adult caregivers, and eating, drinking and noisy, boisterous activities are not allowed.
