Research Procedures
Table of Contents
Visit the University Archives suite any time during the week. If possible, use phone or e-mails listed to establish a time so staff members can be prepared for your visit and focus on your research question.
Keep in mind that archives materials and special collections books or manuscripts do not circulate as library books do. Therefore, staff work with you in the research room.
Special Collections
Collections that are not official University records but that document important aspects of our University and community history include:
Dr. Walter P. Trost (Biology) collections reflecting the years he and his late spouse Ruth spent as missionaries in Ghana.
Alice Clark collections that speak to the earliest history of what is now Chicago State University.
Illinois Legislative Black Caucus (ILBC) archives: the University Archives is the official repository for ILBC archives, which complement the African American Legislators Exhibit by Dr. Erma Brooks Williams, available for viewing in the University Archives’ Assembly Rooms #301 and #302 conference and classroom area.
