Library Web Models

From Staffwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

The links here are the result of an environmental scan of some academic libraries. Usefulness to student and faculty patrons is the basic criterion; these can serve as idea starters.

Dr. Asadi requested models for the "Quick Click" section, which is only a fast set of links to resources. Over the period from Spring of 2009 until recently I emailed many examples of good models from libraries I found online. Check past emails for these models.

Some of these pages are very short because the type of items requires only a reference to general policies or usage. Others should be comprehensive to supply on campus and distance learners full guidance. Some interact, such as databases, periodicals (magazines and journals), and articles. Virtual (on line) and actual (in print) representations should be described.

There are many more possibilities from other libraries, and further research can certainly produce more models.

Also included are some discussions about providing online help for using academic resources.
